Team BC Announces Roster
Underdogs look to compete
Going into the 2017 World Junior Championships team BC has to be seen as a severe underdog. As a tournament that is regarded as a 19 year old tournament BC’s top guns are mostly 17 or 18 year olds. Captain Matthew Barzal, A 2016 Bruins 1st rounder, will be the teams key forward going into the tournament. After a brief NHL stint the Center returned to Seattle(WHL) and put up 19 points in 13 games “We are going in with no pressure or expectations with something to prove”. Patrick Bajkov(Undrafted/WHL Everett) and Brad Morrison(Senators/WHL PG) join Barzal on the top line. Other forwards expected to make an impact are Michael Rasmussen (2018 draft/ Tri City WHL),Adam Musil (NYR/ Red Deer WHL), Dillon Dube (2017 draft/ Kelowna WHL) and Deven Sideroff (San Jose/ Kamloops WHL). Also among the forwards is 16 year old Luka Burzan of the Moose Jaw Warriors of the WHL “Its been a lot of fun so far….just working hard to do anything I can to help the team win”. On Defence the team is loaded with talent led by Senator pick Chaz Reddekopp. Parker Wotherspoon( Pittsburgh/Tri City WHL), Noah Juulsen (Calgary / Everett WHL) and Lucas Johansen (2017 Draft/ Kelowna WHL) will form the top 4. In goal is a bit of a surprise with Griffen Outhouse of the Victoria Royals(WHL). Outhouse is an undrafted player that is top 5 in the WHL in both gaa and save %. Backing him up will be Taz Burman of the Swift Current Broncos and a guy who also overlooked. Burman is top 10 in both statistical categories as well. Full Roster Below.
