Team USA Roster annouced for BRHL WJC

Team USA coming into this tournament as a huge underdog, welcome the chance to surprise!

Goaltenders

Jake Oettinger(BRHL 2018 Draft) – Being still two years away from being drafted into the BRHL.  Jake is turning a lot of heads at Boston University.  Posting great numbers. 1.87 GAA and .932 save pct.  Jake is expected to carry the load of the playing time.

Joseph Woll(BRHL 2017 Draft) – Likely to be one of the top goaltenders drafted this June.  Will look to improve on a decent start of the season.  Like Jake he has posted great numbers with a 2.51 GAA and a .917 Save Pct.

Tyler Parsons (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Parsons the final goaltender being selected.  Is yet again, posting great numbers for a great London Knight team.  Although posting those numbers Parsons isn’t expected to get much playing time.

Defensemen

Jakob Chychrun – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Is expected to log a lot of minutes for this young USA team.  Expected to be a top pick in June.  Jakob currently playing for the NHL Coyotes.  Posting decent numbers for a poor defensive team.  (1G, 5A, and a -2)

Zach Werenski – (BRHL Stars – 2016) – Zach will be another key piece to this USA team.  Zach posting amazing numbers in the NHL.  Look for Werenski and Chychrun to play a lot of minutes for this team.

Adam Fox – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Adam playing in only 11 games for Harvard this season.  Seems to be having some success posting 16 points in those 11 games.

Connor Moore  - (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Connor not expected to jump off the charts at you.  But his steady play should play into this team’s philosophy.

Keoni Texeira - (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Keoni currently playing for the WHL’s Portal Winterhawks.  Producing well with 22 points through 33 games.

Brandon Crawley – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Where would GM Bast be without having at least a couple London Knights.  Crawley is currently playing for the Knights, putting up great numbers with 16 points and plus 27 rating through 26 games.  Look for Crawley to play on that 2nd pairing.

Brennan Menell – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Another offensive Defenseman for this team.  Playing for Lethbridge from the WHL.  Currently sitting with 24 pts though 31 but only a plus 1 rating.

Caleb Jones- (BRHL  Blackhawks – 2016) – Caleb plays a solid all-around game.  This young USA team should lean on Caleb for his experience and leadership.

Forwards

Max Jones - (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Another London Knight player.  Max is big, fast and drives the net hard.  Look for him to end up being one of the top producers for this team.

Alex Debrincat - (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Another offensive juggernaut for this team.  Now he is a bit undersized and will need to use the open ice to his advantage.  Alex is very shifty and isn’t afraid of anyone.

Kailer Yamamoto – (BRHL 2018 Draft) – Another very young USA born player.  Yamamoto has racked up 41 pts in 26 games for the Spokane Chiefs.  Very dynamic player and can make any defender look foolish on a 1 on 1.

Jeremy Bracco – (BRHL Maple Leafs – 2016) – After being traded from the Boston Bruins to the Maple Leafs in what is being viewed as the biggest controversial deal of the season so far.  Bracco playing for the Kitchener Rangers in the OHL.  Is an offensive player but is quite small at 5’9.  Most nights against the London Knights is hard to notice.

Troy Terry – (BRHL Flames – 2016) – Troy playing for the University of Denver is having a good start to the season, having 9 goals and 8 helpers in 18 games with a plus 11 rating.

Ryan Moore – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Playing for Flint Firebirds of the OHL is one of the key offensive guys in Flint.  May not be the greatest defensive player but he can sure put up points and make you look foolish.

Ivan Lodnia (BRHL 2018 Draft) – Ivan in his first season with the Erie Otters has amassed 29 pts in 30 games.  Should become a top draft player in a few years.

Maxwell Gerlach – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Another WHL player, Max playing for Medicine Hat is enjoying a great start to his second season in the WHL.  32 points in 34 games almost a PPG player.

Tage Thompson – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – A top prospect for the upcoming draft, will want to prove himself at this tournament.  Tage could get a lot of looks from playing center or the wing position.  This massive player listed at 6’5 weighing in at only 185 lbs.  If this young guy can put on some muscle he will be a force in the future.

Matthew Tkachuk – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Tkachuk brings a lot to his game.  Fast, big, loves to drive the net.  Makes defenders frustrated with his play.  Plays a big man’s game.

Auston Matthews – (BRHL 2017 Draft) – Matthews is expected to be drafted either #1 or #2 in the upcoming draft.  Matthews is a complete player at both ends of the ice.  Plays a terrific 200 foot game.  Expect him to play in almost every situation.

Sam Miletic – (BRHL 2018 Draft) – Miletic is yet another London Knight.  Is kind of a surprise on this knight’s team so far.  Scoring 20 goals in 30 games.  Drives the net, and is sound in the defensive zone as well as the offensive zone.  Miletic could very well end up on the top line with a player like Matthews and Tkachuk.

Dennis Yan – (BRHL Sharks – 2016) – Dennis the lone player selected for this team playing out of the QMJHL.  Currently putting up a PPG, with 20 goals and 13 assists in 27 games.

Colin White – (BRHL Jackets – 2016) – Colin one of the only returnee’s from last year’s team.  Had a lot of success last year scoring 7 pts in 7 games.  Colin will be one of the drives for this team to success.  No one really knows what kind of role he will play at this point.
