Playoff Daily Recap
Vegas 3
Oilers 6
This was the make or break game for Edmonton (I know I said that last game!) and they got it done. With Vegas up 2-1 on the road they needed to get their starter some rest and what a perfect time to do it as if they could have slipped back to Vegas up 3-1 with a chance to close the series with a 100% goalie between the pipes this would likely end. It was clearly a game Edmonton couldn't lose if they expected to remain alive and they responded with their best game of the series. The game was pretty even thru 2 periods but Edmonton was a bit more efficient with their offense in this one and took a 2 goal lead to the third where they put the stamp on this game. We all know Vegas has plenty of offense and coming back from a 2 goal deficit is not at all out of the question and the Oilers just wouldn't allow Vegas to even get started. Edmonton would limit Vegas to just 4 shots on goal in the third while adding a final nail to the coffin by adding 1 more of their own for a convincing win. Back to the drawing board all even at 2
Stars 4
Wild 2
Man, these Stars games are boring as fck to recap......Dallas gets a lead thru 2 periods and completely sucks the life out of the game for the win.....how many times have we seen this? Dallas came out in the first period and took a quick 3-0 lead, 2 of which came on the PP, and looked to be on cruise control for the win. To the Wild credit they didn't give up in this one and when they managed to score their second of the game in the second period to cut it to a 1 goal lead heading to the third hope sprung eternal in Minnesota. Alas, it was not to be as GM Junya and his Stars would only allow 4 shots against the entire period and that simply isn't good enough to beat B.Bishop. The recipe for the Wild is simple, get a lead, stay out of the box, force Dallas to play offensive....the execution of that recipe is the problem for teams playing against the Stars! Dallas up 3-1 heading home
