Daily Recap
Drunken Rich from Mexico
Isles 0
Pens 2
Drunken GM Toby fresh off of a couple of serious ass-kickings managed to figure out how to stop the Isles and the ever absent GM Joe....shut them out and you will win! This game if taken on face value is an easy home win for Toby but upon further review is quite the opposite.....the Pens once again came out flat and if not for the solid play of C.Crawford would have had this game slip away from them as well. The visitors from Long Island came equipped with a solid game plan and took it to the hometown Pens from the outset outshooting them 24-12 thru 2 periods but it was the Penguins that had a 1-0 lead thanks to a PP goal from Jacob Trouba. That was all the Pens would need on this night as Crawford would shut the door the rest of the way enroute to their first victory of the second round. The Pens may have won this battle but may lose the war as Mc Jesus went down due to injury and will be lost for at least 3 games while C. Parayko is still sidelined as well for an extended period. Pens trying to get back into the series down 2-1
Bruins 3
Bolts 2
In another rather ho-hum affair between these 2 rivals it was the visiting Bruins that stole home ice back from Tampa. The first period was an exciting period of hockey with Boston taking a clear edge in play outshooting Tampa 18-11 and outscoring them 2-1 but once Boston took the lead it settled into a rather boring game of dump and chase. Tampa was unable to muster any offence in the second period and when Boston scored in the third to open up a 3-1 lead it was pretty much over. Tampa did reply once again to narrow the gap to 1 with a PP tally but they were unable to get the equalizer. Of note as time moves along is that Brad Marchand is back skating with the Bruins and is expected to make his return towards the end of this series whereas Anders Lee is still a long ways away from making his return to the Lightning roster and if things don't turn around for Tampa won't make his return until next season! Bruins lead 2-1
