Columbus Top 25 Prospects

From Frank Vatrano to Ryan Zulhsdorf and everyone in between.

Columbus lacks that true star power in their prospect list but they certainly do not lack prospect depth.

1. Frank Vatrano

177th OV 2015

A first pro season to remember for the undersized Vatrano.  36 goals in 36 AHL games with another 8 goals in the NHL.  An early season injury has put a halt to the start of his 2016 season with the Boston Bruins.

2. Brock Boeser

12th OV 2016

One of the top NCAA players, Boeser had an excellent freshman season with 60 points in 42 games.  Boeser has 6 points in his first 2 games this year.  He's expected to turn pro after this season.

3. Adrian Kempe

25th OV 2015

Kempe is your prototypical LA Kings prospect who can play hard at both ends of the rink.  One of the final cuts of the Kings training camp this year, Kempe should see NHL time this season.

4. Sonny Milano

24th OV 2015

Milano was a late cut from Columbus camp which may be for the better with Torts running the show.  Milano was a key member of Lake Erie's calder cup run last season and had a brief NHL stint near the end of the season.

5. Colin White

16th OV 2016

White had an excellent freshman season with Boston college that included a trip to the World Juniors with the USA.  There was a lot of talk about White moving pro at the end of last season but he decided to stay in the NCAA.

Arvidsson spent the majority of the season in the NHL with Nashville registering 16 points.  He also managed to appear in all 14 playoff games for the Predators.

7. Brandon Carlo

34th OV 2016

An impressive training camp earned the youngster a spot beside Zdeno Chara in his first professional season.  His first NHL game saw him put up 1 assist with a +5 rating in just under 18 minutes of ice time.

8. Brandon Montour

52nd OV 2015

57 points in 68 games for your first pro season is good, especially if you are a defenseman.  Montour had a strong training camp but is stuck behind a glut of talented young defenseman in Anaheim.

38th OV 2015

One of the top WHL players of the past couple of seasons, Point made the talented Tampa Bay lineup out of training camp in his first professional season.

10.  Brendan Guhle

43rd OV 2016

11. Austin Czarnik

160th OV 2015

14. Troy Stecher

133rd OV 2016

Stecher had an excellent first pro camp in Vancouver and by all accounts, should have made the team.  He will see NHL time when the Canucks string of d-man injuries undoubtedly occurs.

Letunov had a good freshman year in the NCAA with 40 points in 36 games.  Letunov will continue to ply his trade in college for at least this season.

18. Charles Hudon

137th OV 2013

Hudon has been putting up solid AHL numbers the last 2 years and finally got a taste of NHL ice last year.  A poor training camp this year though has him back in the AHL again.

19. Roope Hintz

59th OV 2016

A big bodied winger, Hintz is working on his game back home in Finland.  An injury has the start to his season delayed.
