Jets top 10 Prospects
Heavy on 2016 draft players in rebuilding year
The Jets needed to have a good offseason as the cupboards were getting very bare. Moving several key players out and completely restructuring the team left them with several picks in the top 100 of this season's most recent draft. Though much depth was found, key prospects from previous drafts remain at the top of their BRHL prospects list. Note all players 23 and under not playing on BRHL pro rosters has been included.
- Jake Virtanen - strong NHL pro year in 2nd half will be relied on for 3rd-4th line duty in his BRHL debut this year. Likely top 6 two way forward with 30 goal upside.
- Malcolm Subban - acquired via trade this offseason suffered a fractured larynx this past season that limited his NHL debut. Likely back up goaltender in rival NHL this season and may push for more playing time from Jones/Markstrom in the coming season or two.
- Nikita Soshnikov - surprise UFA signing from KHL that impressed in pro debut. May make a debut in BRHL this season but might mature in minors for one year. Aggressive, many see as a Komarov-lite.
- Jeremy Roy - Struggled with injuries this year but plays a solid two way game. Needs more size to compete in the NHL. Likely several season away.
- Dymatro Timashov - rocketed up many lists with strong play in juniors and WJC. Elite offensive instincts will make it for offense or not at all.
- Gabriel Gagne - Big power forward with elite hands. Diamond in rough if can continue putting all together.
- Connor Garland - Diminuitive forward has scored and scored and scored. Though small, if Briere clone can continue what has done at junior levels in the pro, he will be steal.
- Frederick Gauthier - true prospect is a monster of a man that plays a good defensive game. Needs more offensive side if ever will make the leap to the BRHL pros.
- Tobias Lindberg - limited NHL time after strong pro start to career. Acquired for a mid round pick is another true project that plays a solid two way game
- Jordan Greenway - several seasons away has a massive frame and is playing well in good Boston University system. Impressed at WJC camps this summer.
