2017-2018 Real Awards (Part 1/4)

Everybody is a winner.

I'm going to do this Divsion-by-division over the next few weeks, as I have time. Let's get started.

Dave Yee – Best AGM

That’s best Asian GM, though in Dave’s case it could also stand for Assistant, as he did win a cup as an Assistant GM in 2007-2008, something no one else has legitimately done, as he’s the only Assistant GM the league has ever had, to my knowledge. But I digress. Another solid season saw Dave finish near the top of the league in the regular season, and complete a deep playoff push, but as always, he fell short of the ultimate goal. Really Dave win’s this award because Junya is a tool, and Leon’s team sucks.

Junya Kato – Best (or Worst?) Troll

This brings me to Kato. He win’s this award hands-down. It’s not even close. 99% of what Kato says in the chat is trolling, with the other 1% being pictures of his wife or Jessica Alba. I could have also given him the award for best job ruining a top team, but I felt that horse has already been beaten enough.

Bryce Shuck – Best Job Patting Himself on the Back

Mr. “My draft record speaks for itself” is always happy to remind us how awesome he thinks he is. It’s quite Trump-esque actually. He was runner-up for the best commish and best Shuck awards as well, but he certainly is the best at patting himself on the back. Dave is pretty good at it too actually, but Bryce takes the cake.

Tyler Shedden – Best BRHL2 Website?

I had a hard time thinking of one for Shedden. I debated on giving him an award for team overachievement, as I didn’t really think his team was that good, but I will save that for the cup-winning Devils. Shedden is one of those guys who has a solid team, but not amazing, and doesn’t stand out in any way specifically. I was just going to give him a Participation award, but that seems lame, so he gets the award for the best BRHL2 website.

Eric (Cat Lady) D – Best Job Helping out the Expansion GMs

I’m not going to try to spell Eric’s last name. Mr. Cat was also a runner-up for best commish. I debated calling this award “Laziest GM”, but I tried to find something positive. Eric hasn’t made a trade in like a calendar year (it was July 13, and it was just picks). Because of this he left himself exposed (as he is want to do) to expansion. He gave the Expansion GMs some solid assets, and for that we should reward him.

Jordan Hansford – Biggest Cunt

I couldn’t resist. I mean it in the nicest possible way. I actually like Jordan, but he sure does love that word. He should probably get the award for having the most difficult job, one that deserves tremendous respect, but that is a bit too far off topic. Jordan is a cunt because of how high he values his players. It’s so hard to make a deal with that guy. It works for him though (I gave him Malcom Subban and a 3 for Joe fucking Colborne).

Al Wehr – Best New GM

Well, I think he is really the ONLY new GM, but I’ll give him this award honestly. He seems to be able to handle the chat (no easy task), and has done a decent job holding off the wolves as he’s been tentative in his first few deals. I’ve heard rumors on the return he’s getting on sign-and-trade for Voracek and Stepan, and I think he’s done well there, so he deserves this award.

Rex Leak (Ryan Shuck) – Best Shuck

This was a tough one. I considered giving Rex the award for best expansion GM, but in the end he’ll get runner-up, despite the general consensus that he did edge out Larry in the draft. On the other hand, I think he’s the hands-down winner of Best Shuck, based solely on his true hillbilly-ness. The guy is a beauty – he hunts, fishes, drinks, farms. Whenever he checks into the chat and posts a picture of what he’s up to, it’s always 100% hillbilly.

You really think the Stoners are set up better than the Caps ?
