Daily Recap

Preds    1

Flames  2

The best thing that happened to GM Kevin and the Flames was the trade deadline day! After bemoaning the inconsistant Flames for over half the season and making deal after deal the trade deadline came and went and so did the line-up juggling. The result to this point is the most successful playoff run the team has seen going a stellar 12-2 to this point. The Preds had a very successful season and with the solid net pressence were a formidable challenge for anyone but even an outstanding performance by Bobby Lou couldn't save them from being eliminated on this night. Nashville had their starter back in goal at 100% and their back against the wall facing elimination so it was expected to be a barnburner but other then R. Luongo(33 saves) nobody else  bothered to show up. The Flames entered the third up 2-0, outshooting the visitors 31-15, and in complete control on home ice. The Preds did manage to slip one in to cut the lead to 2-1 but they simply could not muster any offense and managed a very paltry 5 shots on goal in the third and only 20 for the game. Credit has to be given to this Flames team that after losing the first game of this series rather handily has completely reversed that result and dominated throughout the playoffs to this point and will now get to rest and await the Eastern Conference representative! Flames win 4-1
