Daily Recap
Flames 3
Preds 1
After dropping the first game at home rather convincingly the Flames have roared back with 3 straight wins and are 1 win away from a berth in the cup after a picture perfect road game. The Preds and Flames played a pretty even first period with Calgary scoring the lone marker of the frame and never looked back from that point completely shutting down the Preds offense and outshooting them 32-23. Calgary got goals from Max Pacioretty, Sean Monahan, and Lars Eller into an empty net to seal the deal while Danny DeKeyser managed the lone goal for the hometown Preds. Nashville is in pretty deep in this series and to complicate matters the injury bug has made a guest appearance in the dressing room claiming some key pieces. Jimmy Howard was given the nod in goal to hopefully shake things up and/or to give R. Luongo a rest but he lasted until halfway through the third period while Luke Schenn barely made the puck drop of the second before being felled with a sprained ankle. With K. Holzer already shelfed for another 3 games and several others operating at less than 100% it will be a very daunting task to go into a hostile Saddledome and prolong this series. The good news for the Preds is that their forward group is still intact, Bobby Lou is back to 100% health, and providing they can upset the Flames for a couple of games are then poised to get some others back from injury! Flames in control up 3-1 in the series
