Daily Recap
Rangers 1
Devils 3
For the first time in this series someone managed to hold serve and win on home ice. The Rangers got off to a good start scoring first on the PP at the 7:52 mark of the first but that was it for good news from them as the Devils managed to slide a puck in all 3 periods and skate away with the victory! This game was likely the most even game both have played this playoffs with the shots 30-29, the power-plays 4-3, and hits 24-21 with the only difference the Devils ability to convert on a couple more chances. The Rangers now find themselves on the ropes after winning their first 6 playoff games down 3-2 heading back to NY!
Sens 5
Habs 2
Ugggghhhh!!!! We all knew when GM Steve lost "goalie Bob" in round 1 that he was going to be hard pressed to advance at any point and when he matched up with the always dangerous Sens that it wasn't going to get any easier! The up and down Steve Mason picked a terrible time to be down and was clearly the difference tonight allowing 5 goals on 27 shots but what was worse was that he allowed 2 goals on only 6 shots against in the third to end the Habs season! After an extremely boring first period which saw the shots at 6-5 for the Sens the second period began with a bang and a 3-0 Sens lead only 6:35 in. The Habs managed to get 1 back before the end of the frame however and were in a position to perhaps steal this game away with a great third period. The Habs did their part in the third outshooting the Sens 15-6 but goalie Steve was no goalie Bob and effectively ended the Habs season by allowing 2 more goals against to end any comeback chance. GM Kirk will now sit and get healthy awaiting the winner of Rangers/Devils.... Sens win series 4-1
