Daily Recap
Flames 2
Kings 4
In what had to be considered a must win game for GM Rumpel and the Kings they have to feel very forunate that they were somehow able to win it! As LA was playing their first home game of the series down 2-0 it was expected that they would come out flying and dominate the early part of the game but after 1 period the shots were 11-10 for Calgary. LA did manage to convert on 2 PP opportunities however and managed a 2-1 lead heading to the second. For the second straight game Antti Raanta was the story as he repeatedly turned away the Flames shooters stopping 37 of 39 shots he faced to secure the win. The interesting thing to watch going into game 4 will be who gets the start in goal for LA as Raanta was visably exhausted following facing 100+ shots the last 2 games. With game 4 being such an important game does GM Rumpel risk putting a much less then 100% Raanta back in? Flames lead series 2-1
Hawks 0
Preds 4
In what is quickly becoming a bit of a shocker the Preds dominance of the powerful Hawks line-up continued through game 3. The series shifted back to Nashville tied 1-1 but that was flattering to the slightly favoured Hawks as despite being tied in wins the games were really not that close. Nashville came out in front of their rowdy home fans determined to blow the Hawks out and blow them out they did pounding the Chicago goal with 19 first period shots and taking an early 3-0 lead. For the third straight game Nashville outplayed the Hawks and once again held them to under 25 shots. To magnify Chicagos problems Torey Krug went down and is likely done for the season and joins the previously hurt Del Zotto on shelf further weakening the Hawks back-end. If GM Dave can't find a solution to his suddenly inept offense, this series will quickly end ! Preds lead series 2-1
