Daily Recap
Kings 3
Flames 4 OT
What to say about this one? The Flames came out on home ice like a team expecting to dominate and despite the fact that this game went to overtime it wasn't close! Kings starting goalie Antti Raanta did everything he could to give his team a chance to steal this one as he stopped 58 of 61 regulation shots as well as 7 more in overtime before likely passing out from exhaustion when Max Pacioretty slipped the winner past him on the PP with a mere 2 seconds left on the clock! Although the Flames deserved to win this game, Raantas heroics gave the Kings every opportunity to steal this game and without some very solid goaltending at the other end it could easily have happened! Cam Talbot kept his perfect playoffs intact stopping 34 of 37 shots to move to 6-0 and has been lights out for GM Kevin. Flames up 2-0 in series shifting back to LA
Preds 5
Hawks 4
This game was eerily similar to the first meeting as the Preds came out with a solid game plan and outplayed the Hawks in their own rink for 32 minutes with nothing to show for it as the game was tied 4-4. Colin Wilson scored his first of the playoffs for the Preds at 15:18 of the second period to take their 4th lead of the game but this time the Preds didn't allow the Hawks to come back for a late win. The Preds played argueably their best playoff period in the third completely shutting down the deep Blackhawk offense while peppering the Hawk net 19 times. Nashville outshot Chicago 48-24 and if not for "the King" this one could have been an embarrassment for the talented Hawks. This series heads to Nashville tied 1-1
