Update on top young players expected to join the BRHL and minors next season

With the 2017/18 season winding down here's an updated look at some of the rookies that will be making their debuts in the BRHL and the minors next season. 

2018 Draft prospects:

  • Nico Hischier 18 goals, 32 assists in 78 games
  • Nolan Patrick  10 goals, 15 assists in 69 games
  • Alex Iafallo 9 goal, 16 assists in 75 games
  • Mario Kempe 2 goals, 2 assists in 18 games\
  • Lias Andersson 1 g, 1 a in 4 games
  • Casey Middlestadt 2 assists in 2 games
  • Owen Tippett 1 goal in 7 games
  • Martin Necas No points in 1 game
  • Filip Chytil 1 goal, 1 assist in 6 games
  • Kailer Yamamoto 3 assists in 9 games
  • Eeli Tolvanen No points in 1 game
  • Alex Formenton No points in 1 game

 

Boston Bruins

  • Charlie McAvoy 7 g, 25 a in 59 games +26 rating
  • Janne Kuokkonen No points in 4 games
Columbus Blue Jackets 

Will receive a huge bost in youth next season led by Brock Boeser who is expected to contend for BRHL Rookie of the year. 

  • Brock Boeser 29 goals, 26 assists in 62 games.
  • Tage Thompson 3 g, 6 a in 38 games.
  • Victor Mete 7 assists in 49 games.
  • Jesper Bratt 13 goals and 22 assists in 72 games.  
  • Anders Bjork 4 goals, 8 assists in 30 games.
  • Calle Rosen 1 assist in 4 games.
  • Colin White 2 goal, 1 assists in 17 games 
Colorado Avalanche
  • Viktor Antipin 10 assists in 47 games
  • Evgeni Dadonov 26 goals, 34 assists in 69 games
  • Sebastien Aho 1 goal, 3 assists in 22 games
  • Alex Kerfott 17 goals, 23 assists in 75 games

Los Angeles Kings

Clayton Keller is expected to compete for the rookie scoring title possibly playing along side Patrick Laine.

  • Clayton Keller 23 goals, 40 assists 79 games.

San Jose Sharks

  • Tyson Jost 10 goal, 10 assists in 61 games 
  • Luke Kunin 2 goals, 2 assists in 19 games.

Calgary Flames

Flames add a stud up front and on the blue line.  A rich prospect base graduates Sergachev and Barzal to the BRHL next season.   Both Sergachev and Barzal will compete for the BRHL all rookie team. 

 

  • Mikhael Sergachev 9 goals, 30 assists in 76 games.
  • Mathew Barzal 20 goals, 59 assists in 79 games
  • Noah Juulsen 1 goal, 1 assist in 19 games

Buffalo Sabres

  • Thomas Chabot 7 goals, 15 assists in 59 games.  

Toronto Maple Leafs

A team clearly rebuilding, Dubois and Girard are expected to see significant ice time next season for the Maple Leafs.

  • Pierre-Luc Dubios 19 goals, 26 assists in 79 games.
  • Samuel Girard 3 goals, 19 assists in 69 games.   
  • Warren Foegele 2 goals, 1 assist in 2 games

Montreal Canadiens

  • Oscar Dansk 3-0, .946% before injury.

Vancouver Canucks

  • Will Butcher 3 goals, 39 assists in 77 games. 
  • Logan Brown 1 assist in 4 games.   Sent back to OHL so not expected to join until 201

 

Ottawa Senators

  • Jan Rutta 6 goals, 14 assists in 54 games

Detroit Red Wings

  • Oscar Fantenberg 2 g, 7 assists in 26 games

Florida Panthers

  • Andreas Borgman 3 goals, 8 assists in 48 games.

Nashville Predators

Debrincat could contend for a place on the BRHL all rookie team and could lead the league in goals for a rookie. 

  • Alex Debrincat 27 goals, 23 assists in 79 games
Tampa Bay Lightning
  • Mattias Janmark 19 goals, 15 assists in 78 games
The Sabres have 6 players graduating from their prospect list on top of Chabot. The following have NHL games under their belts this year too: - Filip Chlapik 1 goal, 2 assists in 17 games. - Justin Kloos 0 goals, 0assists in 1 game The Sabres also have Blake Speers graduating, he played 3 NHL games last season.
