Atlantic Division

There is a race for the top spot in the division between 2 teams.  Habs lead the Red Wings, but I think Red Wings take over the top spot due to the easier schedule.  This could be significant since the winner could play the lowly Canes instead of the Senators, who will grab the 3rd Atlantic spot.  The Panthers are starting to come around, but a little late so they will have to settle for the first wildcard position.

Prediction:

Red Wings v Canes - No hesitation here, the Red Wings will most likely sweep the Canes.

Habs v Sens - Habs are too good and this is not the same Sens team that won the title last year.

Metro Division

Devils have control and won’t lose the top spot.  In no way are the Devils sexy, but just get the job done.  I think the Islanders overtake the Rangers for the 2nd position, but only gaining home ice.  Canes win the second wildcard spot, but have to play the Red Wings.

Prediction:

Devils v Panthers - Devils just keep getting the job done and beat the Panthers.

Islanders v Rangers - Sorry Greg, but Islanders look too good to go against here
