Rangers Trade Block
Linke has tough decisions on upcoming expansion draft
Last night while watching the Rangers vs Bruins game a stat tracker on the bottom of the screen indicated that Aaron Dell was # 1 in the NHL in both save pct and gaa. I checked the stats this morning and that is true for any goalie who has played 10 games or more. His save pct is 939 and his gaa is 1.75. What is interesting is that he is an UFA in the NHL after this season. A recent article called him this years "Scott Darling" as a back up who will get signed for a starting position next year. Pierre LeBrun was also quoted in the article. As for the BRHL Aaron is in the first year of a three year deal that pays $813 K a year, an absolute steal. His rates for this year are slighty below average so he won't help much this year but his rating will get a huge jump next year. This is the perfect guy for a team that needs a goalie for next year. I am looking for player(s) that don't need to be protected for the expansion draft and or pick(s). I am looking for a top 100 prospect and depending on the rank of the prospect a pick. Where else can you get a starting goalie for next year for under $ 1 M.
Another interesting player is Adam Pelech. He is 22 years of age and getting top 4 minutes for the Islanders in real life. He is also averaging a little over 2 minutes a game on the penalty kill. His defensive zone faceoffs vs offensive some faceoff is a favorable 143 to 119. His def rating for this year is 75. I have the same want for Pelech but don't expect the prospect to be top 100.
