After a very slow start with numerous 1 goal losses the BRHL Canes needed a shake-up! Despite a nice preseason which saw the Hurricanes with 1 of the top producing lines the team suddenly lost its touch around the net and struggled mightily. The goaltending hasn't been outstanding but goal production has been the biggest culprit as the usually strong special teams that the Canes have featured the last several seasons has dried up as well. With all of that said the Canes were once again faced with the dreaded rebuild option or the "fck it" attitude and go for a retool using the future as payment! As usual the GM of the Canes couldn't resign himself to "mail it in" and the retool began. This time, as well as the last retool, the future was mortgaged with the future in mind as well as the entire next season draft class was moved out for players under team control for several seasons thus preserving a strong core of youth.
