After the first round exit by the hands of the Nashville Predators, GM Junya Kato vowed to make changes to improve the team.  Let's take a look at the changes...

Ryan Suter and his final year were sent off to the Flames landing the Stars Andre Burakovsky.

Jaden Schwartz and Matthew Dumba were traded to the Lightning for top 5 player Patrick Kane, Jason Garrison, and Ron Hainsey

2018 2nd round pick (acquired for Marco Scandella) for Tyler Bozak and 2019 5th

FA acquisition of Mikko Koivu

These moves plus the maturing of studs Zachary Werenski and David Pastrnak have made the Dallas Stars a stronger team than last year.  Here are the projected lines.

The team is very top heavy and strong down the middle.  This team will not only compete for the Presidents Cup, it should put them at or near the top of the Western Conference.  They don't have much else to trade off to improve the team, so this is going to be it.  GM Kato have vowed to keep their higher 2019 picks.  Good luck to the rest of the league, they are going to need it!
