Post BRHL 2015 Draft Notes

Because I'm a big nerd...

Just finished wraping up my draft list and there were a few things that popped up that I thought some of you might find interesting....

  • it took pick 160 (6th rd) in our draft to close out the 3rd round of the NHL draft
  • at the end of the 6th round of our draft, there were 5 guys left in the 4th round of the NHL draft
  • of the last 15 guys drafted, only four guys were from the actual draft: Moy, Ruusu, Vela & Marino... the rest were off the board picks
  • six guys from the 5th round of the NHL draft went undrafted, 13 guys from the 6th, and 17 guys from the 7th
  • of the 36 guys that were left undrafted, only 5 were from the WHL, 2 were from the OHL, and 1 was from the QMJHL; the rest were US collage, high school and Euro picks
  • top available draftee from the NHL draft that went undrafted in the BRHL draft is #129 (5th rd) Sam Ruopp
  • top guy left on the board (according to my list) was Matthew Bradley (pick 131 drafted by Mtl)
  • Kirk retains the title of "Worst Drafter in the BRHL" for drafting a retired player

From pick selection alone, I could tell that Bryce was drafting for himself, his pseudonym Nolan, and Rex on Day 2... Kirk, you should get on this train

On to FA!
