1. Capitals - Auston Matthews. Pretty self explanatory.

2. Kings - Amazing. Turns what should have been 14th overall into Laine, Beauvillier, 1st next year, and Chris Bigras. That makes me sick to my stomach.

3. Flyers - Anthony goes with Jesse Puljujarvi here. Had a very good AHL season as an 18-19 year old. He didn't make it this year, but you have to figure he's slotted in beside McDavid for the next 10 years or so. Rates will always be there if that's the case.

4. Bruins - Dan goes with Keller here to avoid being criticized for taking McAvoy first.

5. Bruins - McAvoy is the obvious pick here. Ducks have to hope the Bruins continue with their plan to tank, or will very much regret moving this pick for futures.

6. Kings - Rumpy gets an absolute gift here. Tkachuk has a huge year and actually falls to # 6. Incredible.

7. Ducks - Ducks take Anaheim NHL prospect Sam Steel a little earlier than most would.

8. Jets - Jets wind up sticking with their pick at 8 and taking Jakob Chychrun here after he made the Yotes as a rookie.

9. Leafs - Garrett goes for the 3rd overall pick, Pierre-Luc Dubois at 9. Could very well turn out to be a steal.

10. Wild - Miikka surprises literally nobody and takes Olli Juolevi at 10. No brainer.

11. Kings - Rumpy takes Jost at 11, who he then deals to Bryce by years end.

12. Sabres - Buffalo takes NHL Sabres prospect Alex Nylander at 12. A player who has a ton of skill, and could also wind up being one of the better value picks of the draft.

13. Canadiens via draft day trade up of one slot - Kevin is in a great spot. Mikhail Sergachev falls to him at 13, and he trades down a lot to Steve for 14 + additional assets. Steve then takes Sergachev.

14. Flames via draft day trade down of one slot- Kev takes Michael McLeod at 14 after moving down a slot.

15. Blue Jackets - Jesse grabs Jake Bean here to add to his fine young group of D.

16. Sabres - Buffalo goes with Logan Brown here, as he feels he's BPA.

17. Canucks - Vancouver could go another direction, but if he stays at 17, I believe Luke Kunin might be the pick here.

18. Red Wings - Nolan goes with Kieffer Bellows at 18.

19. Flames - It gets interesting here. I think ultimately Kevin grabs Dante Fabbro to add to his ridiculous system.

20. Capitals - Joe grabs London Knight Max Jones at 20. Or someone else.

21. Blue Jackets - Jesse goes a little off the board and Grabs a guy who went twice as late in real life, Jonathan Dahlen.

22. Sharks - Dennis Cholowski is SJ's pick at 22.

23. Flames - Kevin happily selects Julien Gauthier at 23.

24. Penguins - Billy trades this pick. But if he doesn't, he goes with Rasmus Asplund.

25. Islanders - Rich takes German Rubtsov here.

26. Flames - If he's available at this point, Kevin goes with NHL Flames draft pick, Tyler Parsons.

27. Canadiens - Steve takes a chance on Brett Howden at 27.

28. Flames - Wow. Another Flames pick. Surprise! Kevin takes Lucas Johansen at 28.

29. Predators - Tyler picks up Tage Thompson at 29.

30. Sharks grab Riley Tufte to finish up the first round.
