2016-17 Award Winners

BRHL Award Winners

With the official end of one season, comes the official start of the next, before we get into the 2016-17 season, let’s put a final bow on the 2015-16 season, with a look at our award winners;

GM of the Year

For the first time ever, we have a tie for GM of the Year as Dave Yee of the Presidents Trophy winning Blackhawks, and Jared Mitchell of the Cup winning Sabres split the honor. It was an extremely close race between a number of GM’s and great to see how many different people were worthy of a vote.

Leigh King Award for League Contributions

The annual award given to 3 GM’s who did the most to contribute to the league throughout the year. This year Junya Kato and Mika Laakso were winners for their extensive data entry work throughout the year, and Ty Shedden won for his amazing UFA system he built, and the work he’s been doing to set up a new page/portal for us for the 2016-17 season. While everyone’s contributions are appreciated, these three really stepped up and went above and beyond.
