RFA season is officially open. Consult the full rules for all information, but some quick highlights.

1. Download the RFA Calculator on the right

2. FIll out the info, player name, his age (WHICH IS CURRENT SIM AGE PLUS 1)

3. HIs NHL Contract. Use nhlnumbers.com and the CAP HIT column. Unless the player has signed an extension, you have to use his NEW cap hit.

4. Players still on ELC will not resign until they get a new NHL deal. You can click on the player name and it brings up his contract history, so it's easy to see if they are on their original deal.

5. You MUST have the cash in the bank to offer a signing bonus. If you're in the negative, you can't offer any signing bonuses.

6. New contracts obviously don't go into effect until next season, but they will be input ASAP. So their future contracts will show if you check the details (note this does not affect their contract average, which is what determines how much they are actually paid this season)

7. You can only sign two contracts for 4 years, and two contracts for 5 years.

8. If a player is 27 in the sim right now, he can be resigned (with age input as 28 in the calculator). If a player is 28 in the sim right now, they are UFA and will not sign.

9. Understand this is a pain in the ass for us. If you mess up, you will be fined, this isn't overly complicated, and if you have questions, ask.

10. Email Bryce directly at brhlbryce@gmail.com with your RFA signings. INCLUDE the spreadsheet and indicate clearly what the term/contract is you're offering. I prefer them in a big batch, not individual emails.
