First Annual BRHL Skills Competition Jan 28-30

in lieu of All Star Game

Since we don't do an allstar game (more hassle than it's worth), and we have the NHL schedule break coming up. We are going to run our first annual skills competition! With cash payouts, it's an extremely easy way to win cash for your franchise.

January 28-30 we won't have regular sims, so we will run a skills competition at some point on that stretch (leaving myself some fluctuation for timing).

All you have to do is submit a SEPERATE player for each event from your team. (Same player cannot compete in multiple events). Then they will compete with the other teams participant in their elected field. I built an Excel sheet for each skill event and a random formula that works along with weighted percentages based on ratings to get the outcomes. I'll share a screenshot of each outcome just for shits and giggles so you can see where everyone finished.

FASTEST SKATER

Pretty simple, the rating that matters is the SK rating. Times will range from 17 seconds to 12.6 seconds. Obvioulsy the higher SK rating your player has, the better his odds

SHOOTOUT CHALLENGE

PS (Penalty Shot) rating is the key stat. Simply they score, or they don't if the player scores, he moves onto next round. For goalies, if they make a save, they move onto next round. Matchups will be chosen at random.

So you submit a goalie, and a shooter.

HARDEST SHOT

The most complex category as far as ratings go. SC (35%), PH (10%), DF (20%) ST (35%) all factor into the rating. Results will vary from 85mph to 110mph. Players just get one shot.

SHOOTING ACCURACY

SC (80%) and PH (20%) are the key categories here. Results vary from 2 for 8 to 4 for 4.

-----------------------------------------------------

What you need to do - Send me a player with their ratings in the key categories for each event. By January 25th.

What you can win - 4m for your team for any first place, 2m for 2nd, 1m for 3rd and 500k for 4th and 5th in each event.

------------------------------------------------------

If a team doesn't submit their eligible players by the deadline, they simply won't compete. It's free money, with some variability built in, so Mattias Janmark might just win the accurate shot (though it's extremely unlikely)

If you name a player and then trade him by the even, yes I will let you name an alternative.

If you don't send me the ratings (or they are incorrect) then they will forfeit your teams spot, I'm giving free cash, don't make me babysit you.
